The word "Nigger"

In this modern democratic, and supposed free-speech loving society we call America, there is one word so controversial, if even accused of saying could destroy a persons credibility, and/or career. The word is Nigger. It wasn't long ago when the word fuck was equally despised and shielded from public hearing. Fuck has lost much of its power to shock. George Carlin's seven dirty words that couldn...g his racial hatred. Imagine, the repeated use of one word gave commentators the license to compare this L.A. detective to Hitler. Don't get me wrong. I think the man was stupid. He should not have lied under oath. Because the word was used hundreds of times during the trial, the mostly black jury were unable to over come their own new found racial hatreds when they set Simpson, the killer free.

Church urges closure of Serbian drug rehab cent

BELGRADE, Serbia – Serbia's Orthodox Church said Saturday that a drug rehabilitation center run by its priests should be closed after a video was released that allegedly shows a patient being severely kicked and beaten by a staff member there.
The video posted this week by the Vreme magazine shows a young man — an apparent patient at the rehab center — being beaten with a shovel and heavil...aid that violence it showed was contrary to the spirit of the Church, and it urged the bishop who set up the center to shut it down immediately. The Synod also demanded that the priests running it be punished.
The video shows two men dressed in civilian clothes involved in the beating, one doing the attack and the other holding the victim, who falls onto the floor of the room at one point.
